Some dusts have reportedly started raising between the Zazzau Emirate Kingmakers and the Kaduna State government, as one of the Kingmakers was allegedly said to have been suspended by the state government.
The suspension is coming after the said Kingmaker responded to the query letter earlier served him by the state government through the Ministry of Local Government Affairs.
It was also gathered that, 3 other kingmakers of the Emirate were also served query letters with no response from them yet.
One of the letters was signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Musa Adamu on behalf of the Commissioner, Jafaru Sani, carrying MLG/CA/36/VOL. VI/1059 as its reference number.
The Commissioner confirmed that the query letters were from the government.
Even though, he maintained that the Kingmakers were queried for their absence at the last summoned meeting by the ministry.
Sani emphasized that the affected traditional leaders were queried as council members and not in their capacity as Zazzau Emirate Kingmakers.
The affected Kingmakers include; Wazirin Zazzau, Alhaji Ibrahim Aminu and Makama Karami Zazzau, Alhaji Mahmud Abbas. Others are Limamin Juma’a, Sheikh Dalhatu and Qasimu Limamin Kona, Sheikh Sani Aliyu.
However, our reporter is unable to confirm which of the Kingmakers was suspended.
Information gathered reveals that this development might not be unconnected from the differences between the government and the kingmakers over the selection process of the new Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, who was installed some weeks ago.
