The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Bauchi state has disclosed plan to train newly posted corps members in the state on COVID 19 during the three weeks orientation course.
State coordinator of the NYSC Namadi Hamisu Abubakar made the disclosure Monday at wailo camp while addressing the newly deployed members.
According to him, the idea of the training was in view of the second wave of COVID 19 pandemic that is already ravaging some parts of the world.
“As I speak, some countries have declared total lockdown for the second time. You are enjoined to comply with protocol arrangement put in place to curtail the spread of the pandemic.
“Arrangement has been concluded to sensitize and train the entire camp community on safety measures to be observed in order to prevent the spread of the dreaded virus in the course of orientation”. He said.
Namadi explained that at the close of registration, a total of 546 corps members comprising of 284 females and 262 males were registered adding that they would be posted to the areas where their services are most needed.
Also speaking, the state governor Bala Mohammed represented by the commissioner of youth Adamu Manu Soro lauded the NYSC for closing the camp in recent time to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
He also commended the scheme for fostering unity and national integration asking the youth posted to the state to facilitate development to the state.
