A philanthropic non-governmental organisation in Gombe, Jamil Isyaku Gwamna Foundation has presented 20 women from across the state with Sewing and Grinding Machines to enhance their socio-economic status.
The presentation which took place at the Foundation’s Secretariat on Monday in Gombe, was part of the foundation’s efforts in lifting women out of poverty line by providing them with training and equipment.
Represented by Hajiya Safiya Isyaku Gwamna, while handing over the materials to the beneficiaries, Hajiya Fatima Munawwara Jamil Gwamna said the gesture was to support the women to be self reliant.
She explained that it became imperative to provide a means of livelihood for women in the society to make them useful to themselves and the society.

“We are giving you these materials so you can have a means of livelihood.”
In his remarks, Alhaji Umar Mu’azu, Executive Director of the Foundation, represented by Babajide Aderinto, Programme Manager, has carried out similar investigations in the past and assured that the foundation will continue to make necessary interventions in empowerment and education with the aim of enhancing the living condition of the people.
