Members of the Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) in Gombe state have suspended their seven-day warning strike.
The union made this known in a statement on Sunday in Gombe.
According to the statement, the union directed all its members to resume work on Monday October 26, 2020.
Recall that nembers of JOHESU embarked on a seven-day warning strike on 21st October 2020, to press on their demands from the state government.
The statement reads “Sequel to the strike action embarked upon by the Joint Health Sector Unions and Assembly of Healthcare Professionals (JOHESU) on Wednesday 21st October 2020, and the series of meetings held between the government team and the leadership of JOHESU Gombe State Chapter, a memorandum of understanding reached on the 23rd October 2020, after a meeting with His Excellency the Deputy Governor of Gombe state, Manasseh Daniel Jatau (PhD), Secretary to the state government, Head of Civil Service and the Honourable Commissioner of Health to address all our demands.
“In this regard, JOHESU Gombe state chapter has resolved to suspend the ongoing 7-day warning strike. All members are therefore directed to resume work on Monday 26th October 2020, to give room for the implementation of our agreed demands by the government.” The statement reads.
