In its quest to bring succour to orphans and the underprivileged, Family Trust & Care Foundation, a Non-governmental Organization (NGO) founded by Hajiya Zaynab Jamil Gwamna, wife of the renowned politician and philanthropist, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna has donated food items, household items and stationaries to various orphanage homes in Gombe.
Items distributed include bags of rice, vegetable oil, palm oil, salt and seasoning cubes. Other are 3000 pieces of exercise books, 250 pairs of shoes, 45 cartons of soap, 50 cartons of detergent powder, 11 cartons of pencil and biro and eraser were also provided to Da’awah Orphanage Home, Christian New Covenant and Orphanage Foundation and Tijjaniya Orphanage Home all in Gombe metropolis.
During the occasion, Abdullahi Dan Adda, who presented the items to the beneficiaries on behalf of Board of Trustees Chairperson, Hajiya Zaynab Jamil Gwamna said the gesture was part of the foundation’s social responsibility aimed at improving the living condition of the orphans.
Speaking on behalf of the Director General, He said the foundation has been engaged in humanitarian services.
Hajiya Zaynab also thanked and encouraged the authorities of the Orphanages for the good work they have been doing.
According to him, what they are doing is a great service not only to the children, but to the society and humanity in general.
She also encouraged the management of the Orphanages to make sure that the children are well trained and disciplined in such a way that they will not feel neglected by the society so that they grow to become great leaders of tomorrow.
While receiving the items, the Administrative Secretary of Da’awah Orphanage, Malam Abubakar Usman thanked the Foundation for deeming it fit to remember the orphanage. He described the visit as a sign of care and concern for the orphans.
On his part, the Executive Secretary Christian New Covenant and Orphanage Foundation, Mr. Polycap Yusuf Degri, commended the Foundation for identifying with them by bringing donations especially at a time when it is most needed.
He urged governments, organizations and well-meaning individuals to emulate the Foundation’s gestures, saying it would complement the efforts of reducing crime in the society.
