An NGO, Youth Action on Tobacco Control and Health, has called for the involvement of youths in all levels of government, including legislative, judiciary and executive.
Its Executive Director, Mr Seye Omiyefa, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos, while reacting to the ongoing #EndSARS protest across the country.
“Youths should contest for positions in government and allow their voices to be heard in decision making.
“The power our youths have now is the same power that should be used and then make sure government is accountable for whatever they are supposed to do.
“There should also be youths council, so that whatever the government is doing, the council will support or oppose decision making of government,” Omiyefa said.
He, however, urged youths to shun violence as they continued to make their voices to be heard in the ongoing protests.
