Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State has urged the contractor handling water projects in the state to execute the work on time and according to specifications.
Masari gave the charge while inspecting the fencing, rehabilitation, procurement and installation of water facilities in Rafin Dadi Water Works, Dutsin-ma Road Concrete Water Tank and the Katsina Steel Rolling Mill Round about Water Projects,Katsina,on Sunday.
“I am committed to providing clean and quality water to my people in all nooks and crannies of the state.
“I want the issue of water shortage in Katsina and all other places across the state to become history.
“This is in line with my Restoration Agenda. I therefore urge the contractor handling the projects to execute the work on time and according to specifications,” he said.
A water specialist himself, Masari said it was when good equipment were used that the projects would stand the test of time.
He said that installation of genuine equipment and fencing of the facilities would go a long way in protecting them from criminals.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the projects are being handled by the Managing Director of Computers Resources and Investment Ltd., Alhaji Salisu Mamman.
The Contractor assured the Governor that the Dutsin-ma Road Concrete water project was completed, while those at Rafindadi and the Katsina Steel Rolling Mill Roundabout were at 95 and 75 per cent stages of completion.
Mamman told the governor that the projects would be completed within three weeks.
