The Police in Osun on Tuesday arraigned three persons before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court for an alleged burglary and theft.
The trio, Tajudeen Salau (20), Rukayat Yisa (28) and Fatai Ibrahim (35) pleaded not guilty to the three-count charge.
The prosecutor, Insp. Kayode Adeoye, told the court that the defendants committed the offense on Sept.17 at No. 12 Kolawole Street, Osogbo.
Adeoye alleged that the defendants conspired to burgle the apartment of one Ajala Olusola and carted away some home appliances valued at about N222, 500.
He said the defendants were later traced and arrested before they were brought to court.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened the laws of Osun State and was punishable.
The defense counsel, Mr Najite Okobie, prayed the court to grant his clients bail on the most liberal terms.
The magistrate, Mrs Olubunmi Ajanaku, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100, 000 each and one surety in like sum.
Ajanaku ruled that the surety must resident within the court’s jurisdiction with evidence of tax payments and passport sized photographs, attached with an affidavit of means.
The case was adjourned to Nov. 3, for hearing.
