Gov. Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has felicitated President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerians and the people of the state on the occasion of the country’s diamond jubilee.
The governor, in his goodwill message issued by his Senior Special Assistant, Mr Ismaila Misilli on Thursday in Gombe, enjoined Nigerians to continue to unite in building a stronger nation.
According to him, as the country marks its 60 years of independence and Gombe state 24, Nigerians must be reminded of the sacrifices made by the country’s founding fathers.
“Today, we remind ourselves of the sacrifices of our heroes past and the essence of good and exemplary leadership in building a nation of our dream.
“For us in Gombe State, it is a double celebration, as we mark Gombe at 24 and Nigeria at 60,” the governor said.
He further stated that his administration was laying the foundation for sound economic, social and political order to ensure that the dividends of democracy trickled down to the grassroots, through provision of people-oriented projects.
Yahaya added that his administration had embarked on a 10-year development plan to fast-track good governance and the socio-economic growth of the state.
