Members of the House of Kaduna Family, have pledged to work together to catalyze peace and ensuring security in Kaduna State.
They gave the assurance on Wednesday after a one day meeting with the Kaduna Peace Commission.
The Co-chairmen of the House of Kaduna Family, Dr. Ahmad Abubakar Gumi and Apostle Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, who were elected to steer the affairs of the Family assured that they would work to ensure that their assignments are carry out religiously in search of peace and security in the state.
In their separate remarks at the meeting, Gumi and Kure reiterated that peace is not a privilege but a right for all people of the state regardless of faith, ethnicity and political affiliation, adding that it was incumbent on all to work towards achieving lasting peace in the state.
Both Gumi and Kure explained that, the House of Kaduna family would explore all avenues to ensure that they do not fail the people of Kaduna State, adding that they accepted membership of the Family because they wanted to contribute their quota in ensuring peace and security in the state.
They further explained that those who hide under the guise of religion to perpetrate crime and conflict do so under ignorance because where there is religion there is peace.
The co-chairmen added that the people of Kaduna State in particular and Nigeria in general are looking onto them to see what wisdom they would display, and how far they can work together towards making the difference in the peacemaking and peace building processes that could engender security and peaceful co-existence.
The House of Kaduna Family was inaugurated earlier in the month by Governor Ahmad Nasiru El-Rufai. Its membership is drawn from the Christian and Muslim communities.
