NLC Nationwide Strike: Kaduna NUJ Calls On Members For Full Participation
Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna Council, has called on its members to fully participate in the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) proposed nationwide strike scheduled Monday, 28th September, 2020.
The call for a nationwide strike followed the hike in electricity and fuel pump price recently.
“All colleagues and council members are to participate in the Protest scheduled to take place in Kaduna on Monday as arranged by Labour,” NUJ Kaduna Council tasked members.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Council Secretary, Comrade Femi John Adi.

KEDCO warns against meter by-pass, illegal connection; seeks customers’ support to combat menace
The Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has warned against illegal connection and other economic sabotage in its franchise area.
According to the Management, the rampant cases of illegal connection, meter by pass, transformer oil theft and vandalism of any kinds are threats to not just KEDCO alone but to the safety of the general public.

Jigawa Flood: Angry Residents Boo Governor’s Aide Over Alleged Neglect
Following what the residents of Hadejia Local Council Area of Jigawa state described as neglect over the flooding in the area, the Special Assistant to the governor, Muhammed Badaru, on community development and social inclusion, Hamza Mohammed, was on Monday received with shouts of displeasure by the residents while he was on an assessment tour of the areas flooded.

Gombe state Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has felicitated with President Muhammadu Buhari, the good people of Gombe state and Nigerians in general on the occasion of the country’s Diamond Jubilee.
In a goodwill message to mark Nigeria at 60 and Gombe state at 24, Governor Yahaya reminded the people of the sacrifice of the nation’s founding fathers.
He said, “For us in Gombe State it is a double celebration as we mark Gombe at 24 and Nigeria at 60.
“Today we remind ourselves of the sacrifice of our heroes past and the essence of good and examplary leadership in building a nation of our dream”.
“In Gombe, we are laying the foundation for sound economic, social and political order for all and we are committed to making sure that the dividends of democracy trickle down to the grassroots through the provision of people oriented projects.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya said his administration has embarked on a 10- year development plan which will cover governance and socio-economic growth to ensure continuity in governance and lay solid foundation for an enduring development of the state.
“Our administration is also constructing roads, through the ‘Network Eleven-Hundred’ initiative to link communities and improve movement of persons, goods and services; providing quality health care service, sound education at all levels, revamping the agricultural sector and reclaiming the environment through our flagship programme, the Gombe Goes Green and above all, ensuring peace and security in our dear state”.
He said the Gombe state under his leadership will continue to strive to do more through retrospective peer review mechanism so that the citizenry can be inspired to do more and make the state a shining star in the North East and the nation at large.
