Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna Council, has called on its members to fully participate in the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) proposed nationwide strike scheduled Monday, 28th September, 2020.
The call for a nationwide strike followed the hike in electricity and fuel pump price recently.
“All colleagues and council members are to participate in the Protest scheduled to take place in Kaduna on Monday as arranged by Labour,” NUJ Kaduna Council tasked members.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Council Secretary, Comrade Femi John Adi.
Meanwhile, the Kaduna chapter of NLC has earlier, called on all its members to join the nationwide strike as directed by the National body of NLC.
The Labour Kaduna Chapter statement reads thus: “following the directive of the National body of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) , Kaduna State Council in adherence calls on all Chapels of Union to mobilize members for a peaceful protest scheduled to take place on 28th September, 2020.
“All Civil Servants, Civil Society Organizations, Non Governmental Organizations and all stakeholders are expected to participate in the peaceful protest against the hike in electricity and petroleum pump price.”
