National Police Day Marked In Bauchi With Medical Outreach
…As CP Urges Protesters To shelve Action

As part of the events lined up to mark the National Police Day, the Bauchi State Police Command has successfully carried out a free medical outreach to residents of Bayara, Muda Lawal market, providing a range of essential healthcare services.
In a statement issued to journalists by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, these included general medical consultations, blood pressure assessments, diabetes screening, malaria tests and essential medications.
The statement added that health education sessions were also conducted to raise awareness about common health issues and preventive care practices.
During the event, the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reiterated the NPF’s commitment to the well-being of citizens beyond traditional law enforcement responsibilities.
He said that the medical outreach was in line with the Force’s community policing strategy aimed at building trust to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community.
“The NPF is dedicated not just to maintaining peace and order but also to the overall welfare of the Communities we serve.
“This free medical initiative embodies our commitment to community service, and we are greatly encouraged by the positive response and impact it has had on participants,” the CP stated.
The statement extended appreciation to the medical professionals, volunteers, and partners whose efforts contributed to the success of the event.
Meanwhile, Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Mr Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has urged the ‘Take-It-Back Movement’ protesters to shelve their intentions as it raises concern about the rationale for holding such a nationwide protest on a day being celebrated by the NPF as its National day.
“It is seen as potentially unpatriotic, which could damage the reputation of both the police and the nation,” he added.
He noted that the organisers failed to formally inform any security agency, either in writing or verbally, regarding their intentions or to request security coverage for the planned protest, and therefore advised them to reconsider and postpone the protest as it is untimely and uncoordinated.
The statement said given the increasing security concerns and the need for effective law enforcement measures, all stakeholders must prioritise safety and cooperate with the NPF to ensure the security and peace of all citizens.
“CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu has instructed all Area and Tactical commanders, and DPOs to enhance visibility patrols across potential flashpoints within their jurisdictions.
The command reaffirms its commitment to executing its mandate in accordance with the law while respecting human rights.
The statement advised the organisers and individuals contemplating participation to engage in dialogue with appropriate government institutions to express their concerns and stated that the command will not condone any adverse situations that could disrupt the peace and safety being enjoyed by citizens.
