No fewer than 7,000 members of the All Progressive Congress (.APC) at the weekend in Sapele, Delta State dumped party for People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) following alleged irreconcilable differences and its related activities
The decamped members, led by Mr Gana Egbemiye Odebala, former leader of the party, alleged many irregularities within the party including usurpation by the party leaders in the area, adding that APC in Sapele Local Government Area was allegedly dominated by greed and nonchalant proclivity.
Receiving the decampees, the PDP Chairman in the area, Mr Pius Ejaigbesaid said that party was big enough to accommodate everyone and urged them to remain steadfast so as to enjoy equal rights as others, adding” our party is big enough to accommodate everyone in the state, and we are very happy to have you as our members, and all of you will benefit from our party”
Noting that as part of effforts to sustain the SMART AGENDA of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, and support the Kingsley Esiso led Delta state People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) to victory in 2023 , Ejaigbesaid maintained that Delta state remained PDP just as he described APC as dead party without ideas
In another development, worshippers who were at the worship concert”worship and Miracles” an annual event of the worship ministry of pastor Kelvin Obas of the Living Faith Church, Ughelli were on Sunday thrown into panic and confusion in the midst of workshop over fear of building collapse.
The apprehension which was caused by a rumbling sound heard from the roof top of the church building ,was closely followed by vibration and deep tremor underneath the foundation of the church building amidst full capacity crowd of worshippers.
The worship concert was momentarily paused in order to evacuate everyone out of the building as sources said that the church was built on a swampy land which was reclaimed as the engineers who handled the project ,may have done poor job, while the situation forced those who were afraid to leave before the close of the event and others were moved outside the church hall to continue with the worship concert.
