As campaigns kick start ahead of the 2023 polls, there is mass exodus of members from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State in recent time.
Barely two days after the immediate past state women leader Mole Istifanus Bennett and a former commissioner Bakura Bajoga in the administration of the former governor of the state Ibrahim Dankwambo left the party, seven more stalwarts of the party on Friday also announced their defection from it.
Daylight Reporters reports that the former PDP stalwarts who left the party were; Rose Simon, a coordinator of Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign, former Special Assistant to Dankwambo Grace Joshua and Saul Dodo Damagun
Others were; Engineer Labilwa Sambo Madugu, Honourable Kawu Peto Kaltungo, Honourable Safiyanu Magaji and James Bello Danbaba.
It will be recalled that within the week, the forum of past PDP women leaders from the 11 local government areas of the state staged a peaceful protest against their alleged abandonment and exclusion from the campaign council of the party’s governorship candidate after which the leader of the forum Mole Istifanus Bennett resigned from the party.
