A strong 7.7 magnitude earthquake has hit central Myanmar, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) says.
The epicentre was located 16km (10 miles) north-west of the city of Sagaing at a depth of 10km, the USGS adds.
Strong tremors extended into Thailand and Yunnan in south-west China, with videos on social media showing damage to buildings in Bangkok.

In Bangkok, the earthquake forced people to evacuate from office buildings.
BBC team reports swaying buildings in Bangkok. “We’ve just heard from our team on the ground in Bangkok. They’re reporting they felt buildings swaying and saw people evacuating to the streets.
“The shaking was dizzying, they said, and from the window, water from the top floor of a skyscraper spilled onto the street.”
In the Thai capital of Bangkok, water can be seen splashing out of a rooftop pool, hitting dozens of floors before falling on to the streets below.
The government in Thailand are holding an emergency meeting.
AFP journalists in Naypyidaw said roads were buckled by the force of the tremors and chunks fell from ceilings. (BBC)
