21st Century Media Growth Highlighted As Federal University Kashere Celebrates Radio Station’s 2nd Anniversary

The 21st Century has been described as an era of information revolution or rapid growth in media operations, driven by the emergence of modern communication technologies and the increasing public engagement with these advancements.
This observation was made by the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Kashere (FUK), Professor Umar Pate, during the celebration of the second anniversary of the university’s radio station.
Professor Pate explained that the radio station was established to train students of the Department of Mass Communication, equipping them with practical skills to complement their academic knowledge.
He noted that the 21st Century is marked by an abundance of information sources and modern tools, emphasizing the need for people to be cautious and critically evaluate the credibility of the news they encounter, especially on social media platforms.
The General Manager of the FUK’s radio station, Hassan Kwami, highlighted that the station has excelled in imparting journalistic skills, ethics and knowledge to students, fostering the delivery of accurate and quality information.
The event commemorating the station’s two-year milestone recognized outstanding lecturers and students in teaching and learning, aiming to inspire excellence among others.
