2025 Yauri Rigatta Cultural Festival To Boost Investment – SSG

The 2025 Yauri Rigatta and Cultural Festival, scheduled for February 13–15, is set to attract investments and showcase new innovations.
The National Chairman of the Festival and Secretary to the Kebbi State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida, announced this at a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi.
This was contained in a statement by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor.
According to him, the Rigatta Committee has engaged with organizations and Foreign embassies to attract Investment, recognizing Yauri’s potential as a mining hub.
“During our recent visit to China with the State Governor, an investor expressed interest in bringing a $200 million investment to Yauri,” he stated.
He added that several sponsors were prepared to fulfill their corporate social responsibilities within Yauri Emirate.
“This is the fourth edition of Rigatta under His Royal Highness, the Emir of Yauri, Professor Muhammadu Zayyanu Abdullahi.
“In recognition of his commitment to Rigatta, the Emir has conferred the traditional title of ‘Gamjin Yauri’ on Governor Nasir Idris, who remains dedicated to ensuring the festival’s continued success,” Tafida said.
He highlighted that the 2025 edition will feature an agricultural fair, cultural performances, and water displays, with new innovations designed to elevate the festival to national and global appeal.
The SSG expressed gratitude to the government and people of Kebbi State, under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris, for their unwavering support.
Speaking on the significance of the hippopotamus gifted to Governor Idris by the Emir during the 2024 Rigatta, Tafida described the animal as a symbol of strength and unity in Yauri Emirate.
“Our identity is tied to the hippo. What you cherish most is what you give to those you hold dear, which is why the Emir presented the animal to our esteemed Governor,” he remarked.
Dignitaries at the press briefing include the Executive Chairmen of Yauri, Ngaski, and Shanga Local Government Councils.
Also present were the Galadiman Yauri, Mu’azu Muhammad NaMallam; Ubandoman Yauri, Abubakar Sa’idu Yakubu Abarshi; Magajin Garin Yauri and District Head of Giron Masa, Shehu Ahmad Sani Magaji; and Sardaunar Yauri, the District Head of Kambuwa, Adamu Abubakar.
