Having elected its presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hit the ground running towards winning the elections at all levels.
The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday, 8th June, met with the party’s Governors’ Forum in Abuja in order to fashion out ways in which the party will prosecute the general elections.
After the meeting, the former Vice President described the enthusiasm of the governors towards winning the forthcoming elections and the subsequent task of reconstructing the country as “overwhelming.”
He said his meeting with the PDP-Governors’ Forum gave him delightful assurance that the fabric of unity in the party would continue to be strengthened.
“The energy to work together to win the general election and start the work of rebuilding the country is overwhelming,” he admited.
The Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State, affirmed that the ‘consultative meeting’ was “on matters concerning the way forward.”
Speaking to journalists after meeting, Gov. Tambuwal explained: “we talked about cooperation and collaboration in prosecuting a very successful electioneering campaign that will result into victories for the PDP at various elections from the state Houses of Assembly, national election, Governorship and the Presidential election come February, 2023.”
Without elaborating on the matter, Gov. Tambuwal told news men that the meeting deliberated on the choice of who would be Atiku’s running mate.
