Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has called on Nigerians to reject the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 elections.
Kwankwaso made the call on Saturday in Gombe at the inauguration of the state headquarters of the NNPP.
According to him, the two major political parties failed to deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians over the years.
“We have seen the performances of the APC and the PDP, and all of us believe that they have failed the country woefully and nobody should expect anything from them again. These people in the two parties have failed and failed woefully; they have nothing to offer.
“Insecurity is also at its peak, and we can’t continue like that because the way we are going now is one way to disaster in the country. So, the only way to avert that disaster is for Nigerians to go and sell the ideas of NNPP which is a progressive party and vote for the party come 2023,” he said.
In his remarks, the NNPP gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State, Khamisu Ahmad Mailantarki said he had been a member of the ruling APC and close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari and could say that his former party has all failed Nigerians.
“These people in APC and PDP are treacherous and unfaithful politicians who have failed the country,” Mailantarki said.
He said the NNPP is a true grassroots party out to give refreshing narratives to politics.
The NNPP Interim Chairman in Gombe State, said the NNPP is growing fast, as the party’s membership drive through registration is ongoing, adding that it had registered hundreds of thousands of members across the State.
He added that people have been defecting to NNPP from not only APC and PDP but also from other political parties
