Ahead of the commencement of the 2023 electioneering campaigns, the women committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held its first strategy meeting at the Campaign Directorate Headquarters in Dutse, JIGAWA State Capital.
This is announced by Umar Kyari Madamuwa, Deputy Director Media and Publicity of Mustapha Sule Lamido Gubernatorial Campaign Directorate.
Welcoming the members, the chairperson of the committee, Hajiya Salina Aliyu, said the meeting was meant for the members to familiarize among themselves and to also work out strategies on how best to face the forthcoming electioneering campaign.
Hajiya Sakina Aliyu urged the members to redouble their effort as, according to her, women belong to the strong wing which PDP will rely on to win the 2023 general election at national and state levels.
In her contribution, Hajiya Salma Wakil, the Director, Women Affairs of the Campaign Directorate reminded the attendees and the generality of women in the state of the roles expected of them to enable Dr. Mustapha Sule Lamido emerge as Governor of Jigawa State while Alhaji Atiku Abubakar clintch the Presidential seat.
Salma Wakil said the committee will soon embark on the Statewide consultation tour to meet women groups in all the local government areas.
Others who spoke at the occasion included Hajiya Furera Zakari, a retired permanent secretary, Hajiya Kandiya Lawan, the State PDP Women Leader, as well as Hajiya Zee Mama, from Babura Local Government Area.
