Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has called on all Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) support groups in the state to work together and ensure victory for all the candidates of the party in the 2023 general elections.
In a statement, the governor’s aide on New Media, Muhammad B. Tukur on Tuesday said he made the call while addressing members of the groups at an orientation program organised for 75 registered support groups organised by the state’s Presidential/Governorship Campaign Council.
The Campaign Council organized the orientation programme for the 75 duly registered support groups for them to have adequate knowledge of the procedures and equipment to be used by INEC to conduct the 2023 general election.
The governor who made the call to the PDP supporters from the various nooks and crannies of 21 local governments at the banquets hall government house Yola, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, challenged the groups and other party stakeholders to harmonize themselves and work together for the development of Adamawa state.
Governor Fintiri commended the people of Adamawa state for their sacrifices, prayers and support to his administration adding that,
with the development achieved under his administration, Adamawa is ready to compete with the top States in the country when it comes to development.
The Governor therefore called on his supporters to vote for all PDP candidates from top to bottom.
Presenting his speech before, the Director General (DG) 2023 PDP Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council Adamawa State Hon. Barr. Auwal Tukur called on the groups to focus on contacts and mobilisation at their various wards we local government levels.
He urged them to utilise extend the knowledge they acquired during the orientation and pass the messages to their members at the grassroots.
Earlier, the INEC representative challenged people to adhere strictly to the guidelines of the election to ensure hutch-free and fair polls in 2023.
In his Contribution, the Deputy Director General (DG) Campaign Adamawa Southern Zone Chief Felix Tangwami (Garkuwan Mbula) appealed to all politicians to take politics in good faith and always forward the needs of the people they represent rather than their interests.
On his part, the Adamawa state PDP organising secretary Alh. Hamza Bello Madagali, said the groups have a vital role to play towards ensuring the success of the party comes 2023.
Madagali said the 75 groups were carefully selected based on their track records and level of standards.
In his remarks during the event, the Senior Special Adviser to Adamawa State Governor Alh. Abdurrahman Bobboi called on the citizenry to vote for PDP candidates at all levels.
He said Governor Fintiri’s led administration is ready to settle all those that contributed towards ensuring the success of the Governor.
The political Adviser said the governor has restructured the security architecture of the state upon his assumption of office in the year 2019.
Speaking separately on behalf of the groups, the Coordinator Sa’ire Movement Adamawa State Alh. Aliyu Bello Ganye and the chairman Gamzaki Traders Association Adamawa State Alh. Ibrahim 86, expressed their readiness to canvass for votes for all PDP candidates at all levels and rally around the present administration in the state for the betterment of society.
They both challenged leaders of the various groups to adopt the habit of honesty and justice for all their members and thanked the campaign council for organising the programme against the forthcoming general election.
