Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar led a delegation to extend heartfelt condolences to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda following the passing of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Baribari, a respected nonagenarian who lived for 93 years.
In his message, Atiku expressed deep sympathy, stating, “On behalf of my team, I extend my deepest condolences to you, your family, and the people of Katsina over this great loss.
Reflecting on her remarkable life, he added, “Living for 93 years is a rare blessing, one that we deeply cherish. Of course, we never want to lose our loved ones, but ultimately, that is the reality of life.”
Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, was represented by his Deputy, Umar Usman Kadafur, who also conveyed his condolences.
“On behalf of His Excellency Prof. Babagana Zulum and the people of Borno State, we stand with you during this difficult time,” Kadafur said.
He added, “We have come alongside my wife to offer our prayers. We pray for the soul of the deceased to rest in peace.”
Other notable dignitaries who paid tribute included former Katsina State Governor, Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema, former Minister of Agriculture Adamu Maina Waziri, Chokalin Adamawa, Jamilu Usman Yola, former Senator representing Katsina Central, Umaru Tsauri, Senator Ahmed Baba Kaita of Daura Zone, Hon. Aminu Balele, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu, and Architect Usman Murtala Banye.
Members of the National Assembly representing Kurfi/Dutsinma, Musawa/Matazu, and Rimi/Charanchi constituencies were also present to offer their sympathies.
Responding on behalf of the Katsina State Government, Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe expressed profound gratitude, saying, “On behalf of His Excellency, the Governor, the government, and the good people of Katsina State, we deeply appreciate your visit and your prayers following the passing of our dear mother.”
Jobe further acknowledged the solidarity shown by the visiting dignitaries, noting, “Your presence here means a lot to us. We sincerely appreciate you for identifying with us during this moment of grief. Your visit is a demonstration of true solidarity and brotherhood.”
