Senior Special Assistant to the Senate President, Hon. Kenny Eka has felicitated the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the successful celebration of the nation’s democracy yesterday.
Eka, who also commended the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio for support to the nation building chided Nigerians to join the government’s at all levels to build the country said, “the greatness of any nation is not measured by individual stride but, by the collective support of the people”.
Hon. Eka, who spoke in Uyo on Mr. President ‘s slip at the Eagle Square yesterday, describing it as “Democracy Day’s Delight” saying that, he plunged as a reminder that, he is human like all of us.
According to him, “. . . for a president ‘s fall, we may find a chance to rise to build a nation, where we can thrive with open mind”,
adding that, across the world and civilized climes, presidents’ do experience similar fate but, rose with grace and poise restored, as a reminder that, strength lies not in never falling but, in rising once more to continue with the determination for nation building.
“He fell that we may rise, on a day of celebration, “Democracy Day’s Delight”.
“Our President Tinubu took a fall, a momentary sight but, let us not magnify this incident out of proportion for even the strong and steadfast, can stumble in motion.
The President of the United States of America (USA), Joe Biden had experienced similar fate
at the Air Force Academy; a momentary weight, but both leaders rose with grace and poise restored to remind us that, strength lies not in never falling, but in rising once more to continue in nation building.
“So, Tinubu’s fall is a reminder that, he is also human like us; that in moment of vulnerability, not a defining cue for nation’s greatness, is not measured by a single stride but, by the collective strength of its people.
“Let us rise, Nigerians, from this moment’s test and find the courage, to face our challenges with vigour
for in our President’s fall, we find chance to rise to build a nation, where all can thrive, with open mind
“Let us keep sentiments aside and use the moment as an opportunity to rise together as a nation”, he said.
