The appointment of the Executive Chairman has since been confirmed by the state House of Assembly in line with the Gombe State Internal Revenue Service and Revenue Administration ( Consolidation and Codification) Law, 2020 which came into effect on May 21, 2020.

The new law has strengthened the governance structure in the service and created Executive Management Committee apart from the establishment of the Board and its membership to engender efficiency, transparency and accountability.
