The former Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, has thrown his weight behind the candidature of Nigeria’s former Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, as the Director-General of World Trade Organization (WTO).
In a statement published on his verified Facebook page, the former Accountant General of the Federation said Nghozi’s experience and exposure is needed especially at this time that the COVID-19 global pandemic hits the world hard.
According to him “I wholeheartedly support and endorse my colleague, friend and sister, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala for WTO Director-General.
“At this difficult time of COVID19, the world needs her wealth of experience and I am confident that she’d do excellently well as WTO DG if elected.”
