A tailor, Ahmed Nurudeen, was on Thursday docked in an Upper Area Court, Karu, Abuja, for allegedly stealing three bundles of lace materials worth N190,000 belonging to his employer.
The police charged Edward, 23, with criminal breach of trust and theft.
The Prosecution Counsel, Ade Adeyanju, told the court that in October 2022, the defendant stole three bundles of lace materials worth N190, 000.
He said that the defendant confessed to have committed the offence through a text message.
The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of sections 314 and 289 of the Penal Code.
Nurudeen, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Judge, Malam Hassan Mohammed, asmitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one reasonable surety.
Mohammed ordered the surety to submit verifiable means of identification and residential address with the court and police personnel.
The Judge adjourned the case until March 16, for further hearing.
