HASKE BIYU 2025 Aims To Boost Multi-Agency Collaboration For Internal Security In Nigeria

The Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) Nigeria, has announced the commencement of Exercise HASKE BIYU 2025.
The exercise is a national problem solving platform focused on resolving national security issues using a whole of society approach.
The theme for this year’s exercise is “Family and National Security,” highlighting the critical role that family units play in maintaining national stability and security.

The statement maintained that Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, will grace the opening ceremony as the Special Guest of Honor, reaffirming the importance of family in national security.
The exercise brings together senior officers from various security agencies and stakeholders to enhance their collective knowledge and understanding of military operations other than war.
The statement added “It also provides all segments of the nation a forum to research, brainstorm and exercise in order to come up with actionable solutions to contemporary national security issues bedeviling the nation with emphasis on internal security and counter-insurgency operations.
Participants will engage in discussions and presentations on conflict resolution and management mechanisms while focusing on the use of soft power as an effective tool for terminating conflicts.
The Exercise HASKE BIYU 2025 also serves as a platform for knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and the development of strategic frameworks aimed at enhancing Nigeria’s internal security and counter-insurgency capabilities.
This year’s theme “family and national security” recognizes the important role family units play in fostering a secured and prosperous nation.
The 3-week event which is scheduled to take place in Jaji Military Cantonment from 15 September to 3 October 2025 will be conducted with student officers of Senior Course 47 drawn from Services of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, Ministries Departments and Agencies, the Media, Non Governmental Organisations and other Strategic Partners.
“Over the course of the three weeks, participants will engage in various national problem solving exercises and case studies. An innovative special highlight is ‘A Day in the Life of a Soldier’, which offers The Media and select non-military participants a first hand experience of military life.
“This among other exercises will enhance inter-agency collaboration required to address the contemporary security challenges in Nigeria,” the statement stressed.
