Gov Mohammed Condoles With Family Of Slain Irmiya Yohanna

Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed has expressed condolences to the family of the slain Irmiya Yohanna.
The governor expressed his condolences through a delegation led by the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Isah Babayo Tilde.
A statement issued by the Bauchi State Police Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, said that the delegation was accompanied by the commissioner of police, Mr Sani-Omolori Aliyu.
While the delegation also extended support to the affected Fulani communities, Isah Babayo Tilde assured the grieving families that the government was committed to addressing the root causes of such conflicts.
“The governor has pledged that families affected will receive assistance, including support for the children left behind by the deceased. Additionally, aid would be provided to the Fulani community to compensate for the loss of livestock and farm produce,” he said.
Governor Mohammed emphasised the importance of mutual respect between farmers and herders for their coexistence and sustainability of their livelihoods.
Chairman of Bogoro LGA, Mr Lawi Sumi acknowledged the governor’s concern and noted that normalcy had returned to the area, appreciating the collaborative efforts of the government and security forces.
Community leaders, including Ardo Saidu of the Fulani community expressed gratitude to the state government and security agents for their support, describing the incident as a tragic occurrence that must be addressed.
Village head of Bogoro, Mr Nuhu Tafida highlighted the importance of peace in development and urged members of the community to reject violence to foster sustainable growth.
Ward head of Kaduna village, who is the elder brother of the deceased, Mr Emmanuel Bulus, thanked the governor for the condolence visit and advocated for justice for late Irmiya’s family.
In a gesture of support, Isah Babayo Tilde and the Commissioner of Police officially handed over herds of cattle to the Fulani community, aimed at strengthening relationships and promoting unity in the region.
